Lori Kunkel, MD, Vice President
Lori Kunkel started working with horses at a young age, taking hunter jumper lessons, cleaning stalls and grooming horses. She competed as a hunter jumper, but college, medical school and her biotech career interrupted her equine schooling. In 2016 Lori returned to the horse world, this time studying Dressage with USDF Bronze Medalist Joost Lammers at Heart of the Horses Sanctuary in Santa Fe. Lori then adopted Olympus, an underweight, injured and arthritic gelding. She quickly realized that there is a need for a horse rescue for horses like Olympus and founded Equinimity505. Lori has degrees in internal medicine, hematology and oncology. She brings her vast medical background to Equinimity505 and her love for horses and the wild to Sky Mountain Wild Horse Sanctuary.
